NOTE: This is the private website of a parent of twins.  I am in no way representing GOMOM, NOMOTC, or any other Twin or Twin Parents club.

The Georgia Organization of Mothers of Multiples (GOMOM) as like organization to the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Inc (NOMOTC) recognizes the value a parent of Multiple Birth Children should have in the process of school classroom placement.  GOMOM appreciates the level of interest around this topic between educators, legislators and the general public.

The Twins Legislation has PASSED!!!

* A copy of an article from the Stetson Law Review in 1999 condemning forced separation as

"A Violation of Parent's Constitutional Rights?"

* A copy of the Letter to Minnesota from NOMOTC supporting that each set of multiples be

viewed individually.  My favorite out take:  "Placement decisions should not be made for the purpose

of promoting the children's individuality or for teachers convenience or for ease of

            name/face recognition."

This website is now a resource for parents wanting to keep their multiples together and meeting resistance from school administrators, teachers, etc.  It's a summary of everything I used to get my twins in the same Kindergarten class, including links to the online resources I've used.  If you want to keep your multiples together, please go to my "How To..." page.

If you are a parent of multiples or care about any set of multiples -- GET INVOLVED!!  I'm amazed at the attitudes schools have about twins even in this day and age.  No parent should have to FIGHT to get something so basic.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Janet Haavisto - the mother who's experience spawned the Minnesota bill giving parents the final say in classroom placement of multiples.  When I asked her about it, she was wonderful enough to respond to me in person and send me copies of their legislation.

My apologies for the stuff here before.  I was just slapping information together to keep a record of what I was going through.  That information is still there, under "My Experience".
