Our day trip to Stone Mountain:

They had a ride on a monster truck.  That's how we started our visit.  The tires were as tall as I am!

I think the kids had a good time even though they didn't crush any cars in the parking lot.

Here's the Georgia Golden Shower - it has nothing to do with urine, just that there is so

much pollen in the air that everything is covered in yellow pollen.  You can see it going up

the base of the trees, the sides of the lake, floating on the lake, and accumulating along the

sides of the lake behind the duck.

We still had fun peddle boating in the lake. Caitlyn lifts herself up to get more peddle power!  We also

went for a ride on the paddle boat around the lake.  It was all about relaxing and doing what the kids

wanted to do.

Here are the signs of spring while we were on the peddle boats.  Some of the trees were blooming in

the woods, so in different places there would be brilliant splashes of color.

We rode the train, but while we were waiting for it to start I saw a little lonely tree sticking up out

of the mountain all alone.  You can see it as a little dot in the first picture, then the second it gets

closer and finally on the last picture is the lonely little tree, holding it's ground on the granite mountain.

Here are some pictures of the kids as we were walking around.  Stone Mountain is just a big chunk of granite, so

we were walking around on the granite areas going from place to place here.  Caitlyn is in black - not a good

choice for this day!  It was 75 and sunny.  Patrick wasn't really tired, this was before noon, he was just acting.

This was at the end of the day, waiting for the laser light show.  The part of Stone Mountain that disturbs me,

the Civil War generals carved into the stone - completed in 1970, shows prominently behind the kids.  I let

them pick out some toys.  The girls both got guns and Patrick a bow and arrows.  Crazy.

And here is a family shot while we were resting for a bit.  Glad we brought hats.
